How many people to a room?

If you’re late to the game, game time will be adjusted down to meet scheduling requirements. If you’re more than 15 minutes late more you will have to reschedule the game.

What if I show up late?

You cannot ask, but you can be given some if it’s needed. There are cameras in the room, so the game masters can follow your actual gameplay and if you are really stuck, they can help up to three times maximum per group.

Can we ask for help during the game?

No, our games are totally independent of any languages.

Do we need any knowledge of the English language to play?

No, you don’t need any special equipment.

Do we need special equipment or clothing to play?

All ages are welcomed. Below 14 years requires a parent or guardian.

What is the recommended age group of the game?

You have 60 minutes to complete the escape game.

What’s the time limit for a quest?

Unfortunately in our game events we cannot refund and recharge individual game players for a scheduled reservation. Any extra or additional players would be able to pay at the location.

If I have a paid booked reservation for a game event, would I be able to get a refund at my check-in and MQL charge each individual player in my group?

Credit cards are used online, or you can pay cash at the location.

How to Beat Escape Rooms

How to Beat Escape Rooms It’s All About Strategy If you’re ready to think a little harder on the topic of solving escape games, let me give you some tips after working through a few dozen escape rooms. Choose your group wisely! Escape games come in varying difficulty levels and you should make sure your group is up to the challenge. If you’ve decided to bring your friend Jim who commonly has conversations with trash bags while making shadow puppets on the wall in a room without shadows, well you’re probably not going to do so hot in that escape game. Always ask if the escape game is linear. In addition, ask if clues are reusable. You should always ask these two questions at the beginning of every escape game. If the escape game is not linear, it usually means that two groups of people can be solving different puzzles at the same time. If the clues are reusable it generally means you will have more potential solutions then typical escape games. Organize your used clues! Before you enter the escape game ask the staff if clues can be reused again. In most escape games clues will only be used once and this makes things easier. Solving escape games are partially about the elimination of those things you don’t need. Designate an unused place in the room and pile all your discarded and used clues in that location. By doing this, you won’t have to waste your precious time rummaging through clues that no longer matter. Designate roles! When you go into an escape game you should designate a few people to be clue-finders (a job that will decrease in usefulness as the escape game goes on) and that can switch to puzzle solving later on. Designate a leader (usually this happens organically anyway) and just understand that if two people are solving a puzzle and working down a logical path, the other people should be scouring the rooms for the next potential clues or things to do. While bringing four or five people may be great, bringing 10 may be a bit overkill in simplistic rooms. If the puzzles are linear, then only one puzzle can be solved at a time. Having more than four people attempting to solve the puzzle at the same time can be counterproductive and cost you minutes that you don’t have. Pick the right group size for the right escape room and you’ll get more out of it. If two people are stumped on a puzzle, put those people on another puzzle while two other people give that original puzzle a try. The benefit of having many people in an escape game is simply due to the different perspectives that each player has and the manner in which they attack the problems in different ways. If everyone thinks the same, everyone will try the same solution and creative puzzle solutions go unnoticed. Play to your strengths by adding diversity into your escape game groups.

Rules The Target The target – an important aspect of any quest room. Often it is a simple task, like escaping from the room (search for yield), by searching for a key or solution to the riddle. But sometimes there are non-trivial tasks, which only add charm to the room. Without a definite purpose, the room turns into the usual role-playing game with a pre-selected scene. Obstacles and Puzzles Of course, the easy passage of the quest will never happen. The fact of the matter is that the players have to thoroughly try to solve the puzzles. Each quest room is different, and the whole plot depends on the players’ actions. The Story Quest rooms often have an easy story or backstory that allows participants to join in and learn the role of the task set before them. Playing in the Range of One or Two Rooms The essence of the quest rooms is that all events occur within one or more premises, often closed. Otherwise, it becomes an ordinary reality quest. Time Limit Most of the quests are set at one hour of play – just 60 minutes to solve the clues of the room and escape. Using Your Intelligence The keys to escaping the rooms are intelligence and powers of observation – think through the clues and keep an eye open for new ones. All the puzzles are solved by ingenuity. A Fun Game But the most important thing in this quest room is to enjoy the passage. Remember, this is just a game, so do not get bogged down in the hope to break the record for speed. Have fun and be glad because it was created for this purpose.

What is an Escape Room?

What is an Escape Room? Escape Rooms An escape room is a one-hour adventure where you and your friends put your wits to the test to solve puzzles, match combinations, and defeat brainteasers to accomplish small goals and reveal hidden rooms while you eventually try to finish the final clue or accomplish the themed goal. Not hooked yet? Okay, let’s give you an example… You walk into your escape room and you see a phone booth. The phone has a dial tone but you’re not sure what to do with it. You look around the escape room for clues. You find a 3 Musketeers candy wrapper with an expiration date of 2004. You find a number 2 pencil that has the numbers 302 written on it. You also find a championship photo that says “We’re #1” and the three main people have numbers visible on their jerseys. From right to left the jerseys read: 3-9-1. You may also find some other clues like small sheets of paper that have pieces missing and some compact discs. In this fictional escape room, your goal is to figure out how to escape. You know the numbers are important but you’re not sure how. It doesn’t look like you can determine a use for the small pieces of paper and the compact discs so you focus on the numbers. You realize that there are 10 numbers in total which would make a phone number and then you’re excited! You just need to determine the order of the phone number and perhaps you’ll progress to the next puzzle in this escape room. Then, you look at the other numbers associated to the clues: “3 Musketeers, a number 2 pencil, “We’re #1!” and then it dawns on you that they gave you the order of the phone number! You punch those numbers into the phone and then a small compartment opens to review a few pieces of paper that just so happen to fit perfectly in those missing pieces you already found… That, in essence, is how an escape room scenario could begin. That’s just one clue and the escape room can have 10 – 40 different puzzles to solve (depending on the size of group and difficulty level). Escape rooms come in all shapes and sizes, from children’s escape rooms to adult-only escape rooms that are designed to scare your group over and over and put you off balance. The one common theme in all escape rooms is that you’re solving puzzles and finding clues. The more organization that your group employs while looking at problems, the more successful your group will be. You should give it a shot. We did the Diamond Heist room and had a BLAST! We were the only ones there but it seemed that our host was disinterested in the process and just wanted to get us in and out. The antidote room. We would have finished, but there was one particular puzzle that we needed more than 1 “paper” but they were placed in a way that we only found one in the place they were hidden. That slowed us down A LOT and we wouldn’t have needed clues for that portion if they would have been placed together instead of separate-even though they are “revealed” at the same place in the game. Always a good time when we come here. Most recent was a week ago for my Bachelorette party. Yes I’m a nerd and idc. We had so much fun! We totally opened up clues before they were supposed to be opened 🤣 never the less it was so much fun. We had been looking for an activity that would be fun to do with our Son and his three children ages 12,11, and 8, and Mindquest DeLand turned out to be a blast. When we arrived we were greeted by the friendly owner as we all checked out the eclectic decorated lobby. During our FIRST visit 2 weeks ago we chose the "Diamond Heist "room. Since we had such a great time we returned on July 22nd and escaped from "The Bomb". The kids not only had a great time but they were "key" to us escaping as we adults sometimes overthink the clues. My wife and I have been to other escape rooms, the last of which was a disappointing "prepackage" corporate format. We were VERY Impressed with Mindquest Deland. It is truly a great and "unique" experience that we would Highly recommend.

We are truly escape room junkies who love every aspect of the experience and the rooms. Our experience at MindQuest in Deland was great. The place was very clean and the game master was helpful. We did The Diamond Heist and The Bomb rooms. I personally enjoyed the Bomb room more but both were fun and enjoyable. The puzzles and clues were streamlined and not to difficult to figure out. Even though the thememing was not as unique as we have experienced elsewhere they did a good job transferring you into an immersive experience. We will defiantly be back to try their other rooms.

Super fun escape room! We did the diamond heist. The path to success wasn't incredibly difficult but what this place lacks in challenge it more than makes up for with VERY on-top-of-it game masters. Our game master made sure that if a key didn't smoothly open or a combination lock didn't click open quickly, we were immediately notified that we had the right answer and just needed to work with the materials rather than rethink our whole game. I took two 16 years olds to this a few days ago. Only one of the girls had done an escape room before. I had no idea what to except. Staff was extremely friendly, very social explaining what it was. We choose to do the one hour diamond heist. I love puzzles and mind teasers. These were very clever. I’m happy to say we did it in only 43 minutes! For a first timer I was impressed.. yes we need to use 2 clues. But your allowed 3 clues.. We worked together to figure out what to do. Once we got started we were getting more and more excited.. it’s a extremely fun way to get your minds working and escape from everything for even an hour. I can assure you I will be back. I’m excited to see what the next room has to offer. Great for all ages.. I highly recommend giving it a try. It’s even nicer to have it local in Deland. 5 Stars... looking forward to returning... Just left the contagion (sp?) Escape room and it was super fun, it really makes you think and even the slight math you have to do isn't to bad, the people who work there are nice and helpful and you do get a few hints and stuff so you know where the start and all that, if you like online puzzle escape games you will love this 👍🏻 were going back to do asylum once its an hour long (its only about 30 mins right now) but yeah this was lots of fun and I highly recommend it

This was our first time in an escape room and we had a blast! We did Santa’s naughty and nice list and it was a perfect game for our family to work together to escape. Even our 9 year old was able to contribute some, but it was still a challenge that was just right for each one of us. It was by no means “too easy!” Justin was our guide and he did an awesome job giving us clues to help us along the way...Clues that continued to make you think. We had such a great time, we walked back in to see if another room was available to do it again. Unfortunately for us, it was booked! The next day we decided to do another escape room at a location closer to where we live and that was a HUGE mistake! After being to two different places, we realized what a gem Mindquest Escape was. We live in CT, but our great Grandmother lives down in Jupiter and we can’t wait to go back soon! All 6 of us HIGHLY recommend Mindquest! Even my brother that had done a similar escape room in CT, prior to this one, agreed that is was well done!

We had my son's birthday here and the owner went above and beyond to make sure our experience was positive. I highly recommend this escape room especially for parties. The owner is so nice and treats you like family. Great place to visit! Very cleanly, bathrooms and establishment was clean.
